"SCIENCE MILESTONES IN THE HISTORY OF RADIO Award

From January 1st to December 31th, 2018 This initiative has as its main objective the dissemination of knowledge, also historical - biographical, of the main scientists who have given a fundamental contribution to the discoveries and to the development of knowledge, both theoretical and technical - scientific, in the field of Physics , Electrology, Magnetism and Radiotechnics.
These pioneers have laid the cultural and scientific foundations and started the complex process of innovation that has subsequently made possible the development and the future realization of the Miracle of Radio, at the level of complexity and perfection that has reached today.
The initiative aims to activate internationally, throughout the year 2018, twelve commemorative radio stations with special callsigns, which will alternate in turn throughout the year: each month is associated with a SPECIAL CALLSIGN, dedicated to a specific scientist.



AWARD REGULATION

The “SCIENCE MILESTONES IN THE HISTORY OF RADIO” award is an international, worldwide award organized by A.R.I. Fidenza, a group of Radioamateurs affiliated to A.R.I., Associazione Radioamatori Italiani (Italian Radioamateur League), aimed to honour and commemorate some of the most eminent scientists who have given a paramount, fundamental contribution to the theoretical, experimental and technological development of the Radio Communications technology. The award period lasts the whole year 2018: every month of the year is dedicated to one specific scientist and is associated to a different special callsign

OBJECTIVE
To make as many QSO as possible with the "special commemorative stations” listed in the attached Table.

PERIOD OF OPERATION
From 00.01 UTC of January 1 st, 2018 to 23.59 UTC of December 31st, 2018

PARTICIPANTS
The award is open to all Radioamateurs in the world

BANDS
1.8 , 3.5 , 7 , 10, 14, 18 , 21 , 24, 28, 50 e 144 MHz

EMISSION MODES
CW, SSB and any admitted Digital Mode.

RS(T) EXCHANGE
RS(T) report only.

LIMITATIONS AND DUPE QSOs
Each commemorative station can be contacted by the same station (callsign) only one time a day on the same band and using the same emission mode. Any additional contact with the same station on the same day, on the same band and using the same emission mode will be considered as a DUPE QSO, and its score will be set to zero points by default.

SINGLE QSO SCORE
To each valid (not dupe) QSO, a score is assigned according to the followng rule:
A) Italian stations : 1 point
B) NOT italian European stations: 2 points
C) Extra european stations : 3 points

LOG ON LINE MANAGEMENT AND SCORE CHECK
The log of each participating station shall be uploaded to a specific webpage ( CLICK THIS LINK ).The reached score will be automatically calculated and made available for inquiry.

DEADLINE FOR LOG UPLOADING
All log entries of each log shall be uploaded to the online data base within one month after the end of the award, e.g., within January 31st, 2019. As a general rule, any log uploaded after this due date will be considered as a “late invalid log”, and will not included in the award ranking. TOTAL SCORE
Overall sum of all QSO scores.

AWARD RANKING CATHEGORIES
Three ranking categories are defined:
Category C) : Stations having reached a score of at least 100 points and contacted at least 4 of the 12 A.R.I. Fidenza commemorative stations on at least 3 different bands each;
Category B) : Stations having reached a score of of at least 100 points and contacted at least 8 of the12 A.R.I. Fidenza commemorative stations on at least 3 different bands each;
Category A) : Stations having reached a score at least 100 points and contacted all 12 A.R.I. Fidenza commemorative stations on at least 3 different bands each.

AWARD FORMAT
For each of the three score categories, the relevant award will be automatically made available for view and download from www.hamlog.ru as PDF file, as soon as the requested score for the concerned award category has been reached.

JUDGING RESPONSIBILITY
The A.R.I. Fidenza Award Committee is responsible for any evaluation or decision on aspects related to the diploma, including any judgement about compliance with (or infringement of) the rules during the activity On Air and litigations. All participants are expected to follow a respectful behavior, according to the general fair play principles and HAM spirit. In case of any documented evidence of violation of the rules stated in this document, as well as in case of unfair, unsportsmanlike behaviour, the A.R.I. Fidenza Committe for the diploma is empowered to take adequate disciplinary actions, including score cut back or disqualification. The decisions taken by the A.R.I. Fidenza Committe for the diploma will be irrevocable and unappellable. ------------ QSL MANAGER : IQ4FE - QSL via Bureau or direct For direct QSL, please NO IRC, NO STAMPS ! For Italy : SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope);
For Europe : 2 US $ + SAE (Self Addressed Envelope);
For Pacific Area : 4 US $ + SAE;
For other countries : 3 US $ + SAE; For any insufficient money contribution, the QSL will be sent via bureau.
